Biography
Milan is a part-time member of Intel Labs Berkeley and a Principal Engineer in the Energy Systems Research Lab in Oregon. His current research interests include power-aware resource allocation in cloud data centers and use of information technology to improve energy efficiency in the “rest of the world”. A current incarnation of that work is a project to improve energy efficiency and people comfort in office buildings through a combination of pervasive sensing, inferencing, and coordinated control of IT equipment and Building-Management Systems. Milan obtained an M.S. degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
